Y2K Customer Checklist

To the Chief Executive Officers of All State Member Banks, Bank Holding Companies, Edge and Agreement Corporations, and Branches and Agencies of Foreign Banks in the Second Federal Reserve District, and Related Information Systems Service Providers:

The federal financial regulatory agencies have issued a checklist of things that consumers can do to protect themselves during the Year 2000 rollover. The checklist encourages customers to take certain steps in anticipation of the date change. It is another tool that the agencies have developed as part of their customer awareness programs. These programs are a critical means of ensuring customer confidence in their own banks and the U.S. banking system in general.

A copy of the checklist is available as a PDF file (pdf - 38kb). Our Public Information Department already has been using it as a handout at Y2K presentations and in response to public inquiries.

Any questions you have may be directed, at this Bank, to Sarah Dahlgren, Vice President, Bank Supervision Group, or to Ira Adler or Joseph Galati, Examining Officers, Advisory and Technical Services, Bank Supervision.
