Advance Notice of Proposed Rulemaking Regarding the Community Reinvestment Act of 1977

To All Depository Institutions and Others Concerned in the Second Federal Reserve District:

In a press release, the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, and the Office of Thrift Supervision have announced the approval of a joint interagency advance notice of proposed rulemaking (ANPR) regarding the Community Reinvestment Act. The ANPR (pdf - 61kb), which is available in the Federal Register of July 19, 2001, invites comments on a number of key issues, including whether any changes in the regulations are warranted. Comments are due October 17, 2001.
