Why the Fed? |
| At this point in history, who wouldn’t want to be a part of an organization that has spearheaded such change in the nation? The Federal Reserve is a renowned organization with endless possibilities and a reputation for being outstanding. The Fed is dedicated to the community where you work and has a direct impact on mainstream America. The minute I walked in to my first interview and met my potential managers, I knew this was it for me. |
My Responsibilities |
| Working for the Technology Services Group, I am responsible for reporting, providing controls and communicating finances on various fronts. From developing rates to data modeling to forecasting, my interaction extends across the entire group. Currently, I am working directly with our Program Management Office Function, reporting on staffing and expenses. I also continuously look for ways to tighten controls across various processes. |
Challenges and Rewards of My Job |
I think the challenges I face every day at the Bank are my rewards. The Technology Services Group is very dynamic. My role continuously evolves to meet the next challenge. There is not one dull day on my team. The fact that my team continues to foster innovation inspires one to consistently excel and think outside the box. To be part of a group that is rapidly changing is exciting and offers the diversity I seek in a position. |
How Is the Fed Unique? |
Being an employee for six months, I must say, working for the Fed has been interesting. My experience in the private sector has been a great one but at the Fed you can see the trust your colleagues place in you to carry out a task. It fosters growth and allows you to exhibit your true potential. As tenure is high here, you find people who are passionate about what they do and who provide a breadth of knowledge on various fronts. |
