Economists in the Federal Reserve Bank of New York’s Research and Market Analysis Group provide analytic support for the Bank’s responsibilities relating to monetary policy, banking supervision, payments systems, and financial market issues. In addition to contributing to the formulation and execution of policy in these areas, economists conduct independent research on a wide range of topics. The Research Group promotes basic research and fosters interaction among economists in an environment where initiative can flourish and be rewarded. |

This document is designed to give economists interested in joining the staff a fuller understanding of the Research Group’s activities. It profiles six functions within the Group and describes the research and publication activity of current staff members. |
