Circular
Restructuring of Check Processing in Eleventh District: Amendments to Appendix A of Regulation CC
March 3, 2004
Circular No. 11581

To All Depository Institutions and Others Concerned in the Second Federal Reserve District:

In a press release, the Federal Reserve Board announced amendments to Appendix A of Regulation CC to reflect the restructuring of the Federal Reserve's check processing operations in the Eleventh District. These amendments are part of a series of amendments to Appendix A that will take place through the end of 2004. Details on the restructuring are available in Circular Number 11511.

The final rule deletes all reference in Appendix A to the El Paso office and reassigns those routing numbers to the Reserve Bank's head office in Dallas. The rule will become effective on May 15, 2004. As a result some checks deposited in affected areas that currently are nonlocal checks will become local checks subject to shorter permissible hold periods.
