New Features for Data on Securities Lending

December 11, 2006

NEW YORK — Starting December 11, 2006, historical search capabilities will be available for all securities lending auction results published* to the New York Fed website since April 1999. Users will be able to search historical auction summary reports and download daily aggregate and specific issue lending between specified date ranges. All output can be downloaded to Excel.

In addition, beginning December 11, 2006, aggregate loan extensions by issue will be published on the securities lending operations results page. When they occur, total par value of extended loans will appear in the results history. Going forward, extensions can also be viewed in the historical search.

*Prior to November 2005 the New York Fed did not make public several securities lending operation statistics, such as the available lending balance, outstanding loans at the start of the operations and par value of propositions received.
