| Calvin A. Mitchell III |
| Calvin A. Mitchell III is the executive vice president
of the Communications Group of Federal Reserve Bank of
New York From August 2005 to July 2008, Mr. Mitchell was the senior vice president in charge of the Communications and Regional and Community Affairs Function. Prior to joining the New York Fed, Mr. Mitchell held various senior positions in the private sector and in government and brings to the Bank a range of experience in financial markets. He was chief operating officer at an investment fund; senior vice president at Instinet Corporation, a global electronic agency broker; and senior vice president at Abernathy MacGregor Group, an investor relations and financial public relations firm. Mr. Mitchell served as spokesman and director of communications at the U.S. Mission to the United Nations; deputy assistant secretary (public affairs) with the Department of Treasury; and director of public affairs at the National Security Council and assistant press secretary at the White House. Beginning in 1985, he joined the U.S. Foreign Service as a career member, serving overseas and in Washington, D.C., at the Department of State. He is a two-time recipient of the Department’s Superior Honor Award. When he resigned from government service in 1998, he was a member of the senior executive service. He is a graduate of Yale University. Mr. Mitchell serves as a Trustee of the Citizens Budget Commission. July 2008 |
