New York Fed to Host Press Briefing on Student Loans

NEW YORK—The Federal Reserve Bank of New York will hold a press briefing on student loan debt on April 16 at 10 a.m.  New York Fed economists will provide an updated overview of the student loan market as well as new research on borrowing trends and default rates.

Additionally, the economists will discuss student debt repayment by cohort, age and income, including analysis on which segments are suffering higher default rates.   

The briefing will also include remarks from Jamie McAndrews, executive vice president and director of research at the New York Fed, on credit growth and economic activity after the Great Recession.

A live webcast of the briefing will be available to registered participants.
