James A. Kahn is on leave at NYU, his NYU e-mail address: jkahn@stern.nyu.edu. James A. Kahn is a Vice President in the Macroeconomic and Monetary Studies Function at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. He received his Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and has taught at the University of Rochester, Wharton, Columbia, and Yale. He has written extensively on business cycles and economic growth. His research has focused on inventory investment dynamics, the sources of business cycle fluctuations, and productivity growth.
