New York Fed to Host Conference on Cyber Risk to Financial Stability

April 02, 2024

NEW YORK—On Friday, April 12, the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, in collaboration with Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA), will host an in-person conference, “2024 State-of-the-Field Conference on Cyber Risk to Financial Stability.” This marks the fifth conference convening thought leaders in finance and cybersecurity, who work across government, academia, and the private sector.

Panels will consider what it means to be secure by design, drawing on ongoing research and lessons learned to guide a discussion on financial stability and cybersecurity. The conference sessions will focus on three core topics: cyber risks to financial stability; important developments in cyber risk management and oversight of financial stability risk; and a forward-looking assessment of geopolitical, national security, and financial risks with an evaluation of structural changes.

The conference is in-person and attendance is by invitation only. Further details are available on the event page.

The event is also open to the media in-person. All sessions before lunch are on the record, with the recording to be made available afterward. All sessions after lunch are off the record. Media who wish to attend should contact Mariah Measey at the New York Fed, Mariah.Measey@ny.frb.org.
