Susan Wieler

Susan Wieler focuses on research and policy analyses related to community and economic development issues.  Current projects include an analysis of poverty in New York City and an examination of the role of the Earned Income Tax Credit in poverty reduction and asset accumulation.  Prior research has focused on immigration, tax policy and workforce development.

Prior to joining the Bank, Susan was a senior research associate at the Institute on Education and the Economy at Columbia University. She also held research positions at New York University's Urban Research Center and has consulted to the Century Foundation and Demos: A Network for Ideas and Action, among others.

Susan holds a Ph.D. in economics from New York University, a master’s degree in educational psychology from Rutgers University, and a bachelor’s in philosophy from Colgate University.
