Frauds and Scams
Criminals often invoke the name of the Federal Reserve in an attempt to give legitimacy to fraudulent transactions, financial instruments, investment opportunities, and fundraising proposals. These scams may be directed at individuals or institutions. The Federal Reserve will never contact the public via unsolicited phone calls or emails asking for money or any other type of personal information.
