Press Release
New York Fed Releases Zip Code Level Data on Nonprime Mortgages
January 25, 2008

NEW YORK—The Federal Reserve Bank of New York today released data describing subprime and alt-A mortgages for the majority of zip codes in New York State, New Jersey and Connecticut. Zip code level data on securitized alt-A mortgages for Puerto Rico are also included. The data are drawn from reports by the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System based on the LoanPerformance ABS Loan Level Data Set.

The zip code level data are intended to assist state and local governments, community groups, and others to better understand, monitor and address conditions related to nonprime mortgages for areas in greatest need of attention. The zip code level data supplement the state and city level data previously released by the Bank in November 2007.
