Title: Cybersecurity Policy Senior Associate
What is your job?
Cyber risk is one of the top risks faced by the financial sector and has gained increasing attention from the industry, the media, and the regulatory community amongst others. I supervise financial institutions, monitor cyber risk, and influence cybersecurity policy, which ultimately helps promote and protect the safety and soundness of the financial sector. To make it easier to understand, I tell them I’m virtually a cyber superhero for the financial sector.
What attracted you to accept a role at the New York Fed?
The ability to work toward enhancing the state of the entire financial sector and understand the bigger picture.
What have you found most surprising about working at the New York Fed?
You can truly bring your authentic self to work and know that you are valued. The New York Fed offers endless possibilities, and there are multiple paths to build your brand and career.
What excites you about coming to work each day?
The impact of cyber attacks can be far-reaching, with potential to disrupt the broader economy. My team’s unique role gives us the ability to engage extensively across the public and private sectors, assess emerging risks, solve complex issues, and contribute to initiatives that have broader implications beyond the New York Fed.
How have you advanced your career at the New York Fed?
I try to have an open mind, learn as much as possible, network, and welcome any potential opportunities.
Favorite hobby or interest?
I grew up playing multiple sports and played Division I tennis in college. I annually attend the U.S. Open and hope to make it out to Wimbledon. I still enjoy playing tennis and also challenging myself at the gym.
Favorite food?
Good sushi and seafood. While I haven’t been to Japan (yet!), New York has its share of exceptional sushi restaurants.
Favorite vacation spot?
Miami and various islands in the Caribbean. But anywhere with crystal blue waters, excellent food, and friendly people is my happy place!
