Website Technical Details for Planned Changes to the Effective Federal Funds Rate and Publication of the Overnight Bank Funding Rate
February 10, 2016

On January 6th, 2016, the Federal Reserve Bank of New York announced the implementation date of March 2nd for the planned changes to the effective federal funds rate (EFFR) and the first publication of the overnight bank funding rate (OBFR).

On Saturday, February 27th, 2016, the New York Fed will be upgrading its technology to support the implementation of these changes. As part of this transition, from February 27th through March 1st, the existing Federal Funds Data page will be unavailable and will be replaced with a text-only page displaying only the prior business day’s EFFR. On these four days, the export data feature (Excel and XML) will be unavailable.

Starting on March 2nd, for the publication of the March 1 rates, the Federal Funds Data page will re-launch with new specifications. In addition, a new OBFR data page will debut, based on the same specifications.

If you have systems that automatically obtain the data, they will need to be updated prior to March 2nd.

Please see the following documents for the required specifications to update tools that will automatically obtain EFFR and OBFR data.
