Circular
Check Delays Resulting From Hurricane Lenny
Resumption of Check Presentments in the Virgin Islands
November 19, 1999
Circular No. 11205

To All Depository Institutions and Others Concerned in the Second Federal Reserve District:

In our Circular No. 11202, this Bank notified you that, due to the damage caused by Hurricane Lenny and the resulting delays in the presentment and return of cash items, this Bank was deferring credit for items we identified as drawn on, or cash items returned to, depository institutions having routing numbers with 0216, and 2216 prefixes.

The conditions in the Virgin Islands following Hurricane Lenny have improved such that this Bank is now able to present and return cash items to the affected institutions. Therefore, effective November 18, 1999, this Bank is no longer deferring credit for items drawn on or returned to depository institutions having routing numbers with 0216 and 2216 prefixes.
