Hudson County, N.J., Sandy Relief: Free Clinic and Workshop on Access to Capital for Small Business

Overview
The New York Fed, in partnership with government and non-profit organizations, will provide free one-on-one assistance for New Jersey homeowners, businesses, and residents affected by Sandy, as well as a workshop on access to capital for small business recovery and expansion.

Receive free one-on-one counseling sessions on:

  • FEMA and SBA claims
  • Insurance
  • Loans
  • Legal questions
  • Tax questions
  • Mortgage modifications and questions
  • Managing stress and coping in the aftermath of Sandy

Documents to bring:

  • Correspondence with FEMA and SBA
  • Insurance policies and correspondence with insurers
  • Mortgages and recent mortgage statements
  • Leases and correspondence with landlords
  • Documentation of damage

Are you a small business owner in need of capital?
Attend a two-hour workshop and learn:

  • How Federal agencies and financial institutions can help your business recover and expand
  • What lenders are looking for in potential borrowers
  • Tips on how to avoid common mistakes on your loan or grant applications
