Employer Small Businesses Report Will Include More Cross-Time Comparisons And Deeper Industry-Specific Insights: May 22

May 14, 2018

The 12 Federal Reserve Banks will release the 2017 Small Business Credit Survey: Report on Employer Firms at 2:30 PM EDT on Tuesday, May 22. The Report builds on the Reserve Banks’ new website FedSmallBusiness.org, which serves as a hub for small business research, analysis and thought leadership.

The Report examines business conditions and the credit environment from the perspective of over 8,000 small business owners who have employees. It will assess how the businesses performed, their financial challenges, the credit they sought and received, and more.

This marks the first time the Report on Employer Firms will compare a broad set of key statistics over time—providing insight into how small business funding sources, financing needs and other critical issues have evolved. This is also the first time the Report segments many key measures by industry, firm age and revenue size.

Press Call on the Report on Employer Firms:
Authors of the Report will host a background press call on Tuesday, May 22 at 12:30 PM EDT to provide further context on the research. Journalists interested in participating should RSVP to Betsy Bourassa at betsy.bourassa@ny.frb.org.
