New York Fed to Host Town Hall Meeting on Federal Register Notice

October 24, 2018

The Federal Reserve Bank of New York will host a public Town Hall meeting on Friday, November 2, related to the Federal Reserve System’s Strategies for Improving the U.S. Payment System (SIPS) initiative. The Town Hall is an opportunity for the public to learn about the October 3 Federal Register Notice, which provides a formal mechanism for the public to comment on potential actions the Federal Reserve could take to promote ubiquitous, safe, and efficient faster payments in the United States by facilitating real-time interbank settlement of faster payments. Fed representatives will provide an overview of the conceptual approaches presented in the notice, answer questions about the potential actions outlined, and facilitate dialogue with other stakeholders.

The public comment period ends on December 14. For more information, please visit FedPaymentsImprovement.org.
