NEW YORKâOn Friday, June 6, the Federal Reserve Bank of New York will release a podcast series about Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs). The three-part series, “CDFIs: Serving the Underserved and Making Missing Markets,” is the latest installment of the New York Fed’s “Bank Notes” podcast.
The series examines what CDFIs are, what they do, and how their work relates to an effort by the New York Fed’s Community Development team to connect new sources of capital to community needs.
The podcast is being released in conjunction with a June 12 event hosted by the New York Fed, “Expanding Community Development Financial Institutions to New Geographies and Markets.” Speakers will highlight examples of communities where CDFIs have expanded their lending and will discuss the opportunities and challenges facing funders and investors who might facilitate expansion. The agenda and additional details are available on the event page.
This in-person event is open to media. All remarks are on the record and a recording will be made available afterward. Media who wish to attend must register by contacting Connor Munsch at Connor.Munsch@ny.frb.org.
