NEW YORK—Federal Reserve Bank of New York President John C. Williams will visit Staten Island on March 30 to meet with leaders in government, business, and community and economic development.
The first stop on this daylong regional visit will be Staten Island Borough Hall, where President Williams will meet with Borough President Vito Fossella to hear about economic opportunities and challenges on the island. He will then visit the College of Staten Island Innovation Hub to tour the facility and learn about development on Staten Island’s North Shore.
From there, President Williams will travel to the Staten Island Foundation, where he will join community development leaders for a roundtable discussion on issues affecting communities and households. Next on the day’s agenda is a site visit to Pratt Industries Paper Mills, where President Williams will hear about the borough’s recycling and waste management sector.
To conclude the regional visit, President Williams will meet with a group of business leaders for a discussion about the local economy. He will then deliver remarks on the economic outlook and monetary policy at an event organized by the Staten Island Economic Development Corporation.
These meetings serve to inform President Williams on regional issues and are part of the New York Fed’s ongoing efforts to assess economic conditions across the Federal Reserve’s Second District, which includes New York State, northern New Jersey, southwestern Connecticut, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
