NEW YORK — Jack Gutt, head of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York’s Communications and Outreach Group, has been named executive vice president. Mr. Gutt is also a member of the Bank’s Management Committee.
The Communications and Outreach Group develops, coordinates, and disseminates information about the Bank and its work to internal and external audiences.
Mr. Gutt assumed leadership of the Communications and Outreach Group in October 2013 and was promoted to senior vice president in January 2014. Previously, he had served as head of media relations.
Prior to joining the Bank in 2009, Mr. Gutt served as managing director at several leading public relations and public affairs firms and was one of the founding partners of Vistance Group LLC. He began his communications consulting career working for the Presidency of the Republic of Ecuador on its privatization and modernization program, and later remained in the region advising multinationals doing business in Latin America as well as several political candidates during three electoral cycles. In 1998, he moved to South Florida where he helped to establish Hill & Knowlton’s office.
Mr. Gutt holds degrees in newspaper journalism and political science, both from Syracuse University.
