Press Briefing: Homeownership and Housing Wealth

Program Information

On May 17, 2018, the Federal Reserve Bank of New York hosted an economic press briefing examining trends in home prices, homeownership, housing wealth, and equity extraction. Beverly Hirtle, executive vice president and director of Research, provided opening remarks and joined a panel of New York Fed economists to answer questions after the presentation.

In conjunction with the briefing, the New York Fed released its Q1 2018 Household Debt and Credit Report, which provides insight into household trends in borrowing and indebtedness, including data about mortgages, student loans, credit cards and auto loans.
