Rajashri Chakrabarti is a senior economist in the Microeconomic Studies Function. Her primary areas of interest include labor economics, economics of education, and public economics. Her research focuses on accountability and school choice including vouchers, charters, and No Child Left Behind; K-12 and higher education finance; issues in higher education such as financial aid, student loans, role of for-profit institutions, early admissions to U.S colleges; political economy implications of reorganization of nations; and econometric approaches to program evaluation. Prior to joining the NY Fed, Raji was a postdoctoral fellow at Harvard University in the John F. Kennedy School of Government's Program on Education Policy and Governance. She holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Cornell University.
