Gonzalo Cisternas is a financial research advisor in Non-Bank Financial Institution Studies within the Financial Intermediation Policy Research Division. In his work, he has developed dynamic models featuring both market power and private information by economic agents, which he has used to provide insights on strategic behavior in areas such as dynamic pricing, consumer privacy, oligopolistic competition, auction theory, and others. Before joining the bank, he was an Associate Professor of Economics in the Sloan School of Management at MIT. He obtained a Ph.D. in Economics from Princeton in 2013.
