Giorgio Topa is an economic research advisor in Labor and Product Market Studies within the Monetary Policy Research Division. His primary research interests include applied microeconomics, labor economics and applied econometrics. More specifically, he has been studying models of networks and local interactions, as well as devising econometric tools for the empirical implementation of such models. Prior to joining the New York Fed, Mr. Topa was an assistant professor at New York University. He holds a B.A. from Universita' di Venezia, Italy and a Ph.D. from the University of Chicago.
