Giorgio Topa is the head of Macroeconomic and Monetary Studies. His primary research interests include labor economics, subjective expectations, and applied econometrics. More specifically, he has been studying job search, mismatch unemployment, referrals, labor market dynamics as well as consumer and business economic expectations. Prior to joining the New York Fed, Mr. Topa was an assistant professor at New York University. He holds a B.A. from Universita' di Venezia, Italy and a Ph.D. from the University of Chicago.
