New York Fed to Host Press Briefing on Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands

NEW YORK—The Federal Reserve Bank of New York will host its next economic press briefing on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at 10:00 a.m.

The briefing will analyze the unfolding economic situation in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands (USVI) following Hurricanes Irma and Maria. It will focus on the state of the Puerto Rico economy before the hurricanes, assess their initial effects on employment and economic activity, and contextualize their impacts on Puerto Rico and the USVI in relation to other hurricanes that have affected particular areas of the United States. President William C. Dudley will provide opening remarks and will join a panel of New York Fed economists to answer questions after the presentation.

The event will be open to journalists to attend in-person. It will also be webcast to registered participants.
