Making Missing Markets: Catalyzing Capital and Igniting Innovation

November 18, 2026

On Wednesday, November 18, 2026, the Federal Reserve Bank of New York will host a hybrid event as part of the Making Missing Markets Initiative, an effort to foster and improve markets channeling investments into under-resourced communities.

Investments to improve communities’ economic opportunities across sectors are typically fragmented. Moreover, they fail to attract private capital at a scale commensurate with the size of the problem. The Making Missing Markets Initiative seeks to change this dynamic and improve well-being across all communities, especially low- and moderate-income communities.

This event will include speakers and panelists who are developing new business models that better address the root causes of communities’ challenges. This event will be of interest to leaders in finance, philanthropy, community development, and academia, and anyone else interested in creating new markets aimed at fostering opportunity-rich communities.
